Carnival Food Park (Marikina)

Hey guys! Are you looking for a good place to dine and hangout with your friends? I bet you’re all familiar with food parks since it’s becoming a trend these days.

Last Saturday, my friends and I went to Carnival Food Park in Marikina. It’s another addition to the growing food parks around the metro. But what sets it apart from others is the Carnival Theme they have. Once you enter the place, you were welcome with an arc with the food park signage, colorful banderitas hanging and some murals outside the food park. It gives the vibe of an old school carnival which can really captures your attention. Since we went there before their opening hours, we had the opportunity to roam around the place, took a lot of instagrammable photos and just observe the whole place.

HOW TO GET THERE?

As for us, we went to Cubao Quezon City first and wait for a jeepney with a signage of “Calumpang” Marikina. However, it is nowhere to be found so we just decided to take a Grab Car. Total fare is P157.00 (we split the expense into four). Not bad since it’s a bit far. But here’s the list of options you can take if you decided to commute. Hope this helps.

Option 1 -Estimated Cost : around Php 35
Take the LRT 2 and exit on Santolan Station
Take any jeepney bound to Montalban / San Mateo. These routes directly pass along Gil Fernando St., where Carnival Park is located.

Option 2 – Estimated cost : around Php 55
From Cubao (Gateway Mall) or Katipunan (Katipunan LRT Station), take the UV express bound to Marikina (routes of Parang or SSS Village
Alight near the Marikina Sports Center.
Take any tricycle (brown, beige or green) and tell the driver to take you in Gil Fernando St, Carnival Food Park.

Option 3 – Estimated Cost  around: Php 55
From Gateway Mall, take the UV express bound to Antipolo, Masinag or Cogeo.
Alight at Robinsons Metroeast.
From the overpass, you can easily see the light brown / cream tricycles that can take you to the area. (source: Diane wants to write)

FOODS

Most of the food stalls open at 4pm, but there are already people waiting outside. They have a wide variety of food choices ranging from chicken dish, steaks, desserts, drinks, pizza, nachos and others. Since I was excited to eat because I’m a bit hungry that time, I forgot to take a picture of all the food stalls. Hahaha!

As for us, we decided to buy our snacks in Chicken Way which serves decent fried chicken as finger foods.

Too much happiness in this photo 🙂

VERDICT

Since it’s our first time to visit it, it’s hard to choose where and what to eat because there are a lot of food stalls inside the food park which looks appetizing. For the ambiance of the place, it looks beautiful because of its unique and colorful carnival theme. Food prices range from P100-200 each so it’s not expensive. The service was quite okay since we didn’t wait that long. There are also a karaoke room which you and your friends can sing your heart out and have a good time. Lastly, their parking lot has a limited slots so think twice before bringing a car.
