For those in need of quick weekend getaway, I found the perfect place for you and your friends. Just one bus ride away from Manila and you’re already in this secluded Zambales getaway. I will also include transportation option, food, accommodation and activities. Let’s start!
Magalawa Island is now one of the newest tourist destination in Zambales. An eco-tourism resort, Magalawa Island Armada Resort, a privately owned resort, has been developed since 2009 and now continually on its rise with its back to basic and nature trip settings. Just recently, to be able to provide and generate livelihood to the island community, management of the Armada Resort have come up with packages which include meals, snorkeling, rafting, boat riding, mangrove trekking. These helps the community in providing livelihood and help generate income for its barangay and municipality.

How to get there?
By public transportation
- From Manila, take any Iba-Sta. Cruz bound bus. Victory Liner is one and is preferable as they have regular schedules posted on their website and WiFi on board! Bus fare ranges from P400-450.00 (one way only). Tell the conductor/driver to drop you off to the tricycle terminal to Luan Port/ Radyo Veritas at Pamolingan. Travel time is 6 hours if you’re coming from Victory Liner Monumento.
- From there, take a tricycle to the beach. Estimated travel time is 30 minutes to 45 minutes. (Get ready for some bumpy road ahead! Sakit sa ulo Bes. hahaha) Fare is P100 good for 2-3 persons only.
There are 2 resorts in the island namely: Armada Resort and Ruiz Resort. My colleagues chose Armada Resort.
- Boat Transpo (2way)
- 4 Set Meals
- Snorkeling Activity
- Accommodation of your choice
WHAT TO DO
Of course, EATING! Armada Resort has this Floating Restaurant wherein you can dine with your friends with sumptuous foods plus a serene background of the sea.
SNORKELING (FREE! it’s included in the package)
Although I’m not a good swimmer, I always love to try snorkeling 🙂
SWIMMING (NOTE: Don’t expect a crystal clear water in the beach)
CHILL BY THE BEACH AND UNLIMITED PICTORIAL WITH YOUR FRIENDS!
